
Infancy (0-12 months)
- Milestones:
- Begins forming secure attachment with caregivers.
- Starts to recognize emotions in others and mirror facial expressions.
- Shows preference for familiar people, responds to comfort.
- A securely attached infant is more likely to grow into a child who feels safe exploring the world and forming relationships with others.

Toddlerhood (1-3 years)
- Milestones:
- Expresses basic emotions (Joy, anger, fear).
- Begins using words to describe feelings.
- Starts parallel play and early cooperative behavior.
- This is a messy, emotional time, and that's okay. Toddlers are learning self-regulation, not failing at it.

Early Childhood (3-5 years)
- Milestones:
- Develops empathy and understanding of others' perspectives.
- Begins regulating emotions with support.
- Participates in group play, shares and follows basic rules.
- At this age, kids are watching everything adults do. Our words and actions become their SEL curriculum.
